The First Step In Publishing A Book Is Building Your Author Platform. Before an Agent or Publisher considers looking at your book proposal or manuscript, they will want to hear about your author platform: your online visibility, credibility, media exposure, social media following, e-mail database, live event attendance, testimonials, and your overall audience in the industry or field that is related to your upcoming book.

Your chances of being published are proportionally equal to the size of your platform. If you don't have a strong author platform to prove your ability to promote yourself and drive book sales, you won't get published! If you are self-publishing, then you will need to put your book in front of possible buyers!
